About

Let
me tell you a bit about us. I am a professional chef. I graduated
from The Culinary Institute of America, and have worked in
many fine restaurants and pastry shops during my 22 year
career. So, how did I get into the business of baking dog
biscuits? |

Three
years ago, my wife and I adopted our first dog, a golden retriever that we named Java. At 7 months
old she had been in and out of three different homes and was
losing her trust in people. We knew as soon as we met her that
our home would be her forever home. Our second dog, Thumper,
came to us through a rescue group based in the South. Another
golden retriever, he arrived in Maine around Christmas. He was
a skinny, scruffy animal who stood shivering in the cold winter
air. He adapted quite readily to his new home in the snowy North. |

Java
and Thumper are the inspiration behind The Growlin' Gourmet.
We knew we wanted only the best for our two loyal companions.
Concerned about the ingredients in store bought treats
we started baking our own healthy, tasty biscuits. It was
after much encouragement from family and friends that we
developed the Growlin' Gourmet to allow us to share our
tasty biscuits with you. |
| |
The
Growlin' Gourmet is located in the coastal Maine town of
Scarborough . Our biscuits are handcrafted to order using
only the finest organic ingredients. They contain no preservatives,
salt, sugar, wheat or corn. I hope your dogs enjoy these
treats as much as Java and Thumper. |
